February 22, 2024, Moscow – The Association of International Pharmaceutical Manufacturers (AIPM) announces that Katerina Pogodina, Managing Director Russia & CIS, Janssen, pharmaceutical companies of Johnson & Johnson, was elected as the Chair of the AIPM Board of Directors. The decision was made at the Board of Directors meeting held on February 20, 2024.
Katerina Pogodina has been working in the pharmaceutical industry for more than 20 years. Throughout her career, she has gained significant managerial experience, successfully overseeing various Janssen divisions and later took the responsibilities over the company's operations in Russia and the CIS. Katerina possesses extensive industry knowledge and is an active member of several professional associations.
Having passed her career path from the marketing department to the head of the company overseeing Russia & CIS markets, Katerina has consistently demonstrated high level of efficiency and work quality. Under Katerina’s leadership a whole range of the new products was launched, work in specific new therapeutic areas initiated, and new company divisions established.
Katerina has been a member of Janssen Russia Board of Directors since 2010 and was appointed Country Manager Russia in 2015; she was promoted to the position of Managing Director Janssen Russia & CIS in 2017. In 2016, Katerina led a regional project for the Europe, Middle East, and Africa cluster in market access and was involved in a global project implementing big data analytics and artificial intelligence. In 2019 she was appointed to the position of Director General for Johnson & Johnson LLC and was holding it till the end of the mandate in 2023.
Since 2015, Katerina has been a member of the Board of Directors of the Association of International Pharmaceutical Manufacturers (AIPM). In 2021, she also became co-chair of InPharma association. In 2019, Katerina was elected, and then re-elected in 2021 and 2023, to the AmCham Board of Directors.
In 2019, Katerina was recognized as the ‘Business Woman of the Year’ in the “Pharma” category by EY and was listed among the TOP-25 female CEOs in the RBC rating. In 2022 Katerina led the ranking and in 2023 made it to the top-3 of 250 best top managers in pharma industry rating by Association of Managers of Russia and Kommersant.
Katerina holds a degree in law (with honors) of Moscow International University; she has successfully completed executive education programs at the London School of Economics and Skolkovo Moscow School of Management.

Katerina Pogodina takes over the position of the Chair of the Board of Directors on February 21, 2024, and simultaneously stepped down as Vice-Chair of the Association. In accordance with the AIPM Statutes, the Chair of the AIPM Board of Directors is elected for two-year period with the possibility of one-time re-election.
